Antyra Labs, is the technical arm of the company and for the last decade has offered product engineering services, building diverse web applications ranging from insurance rating engines to hotel booking software.
The Role
The Technical Lead will be responsible for the output of the software engineering team, reporting directly to the CTO. The ideal candidate would have prior administrative experience managing a team, taking great joy in seeing his / her software solutions brought to life. PHP / Laravel has been the platform of choice thus far for the company, hence expert level knowledge in core PHP development as well as the Laravel framework is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with key stakeholders to model, design and develop Enterprise web applications.
- Ensure software is scalable, maintainable and secure by implementing best practices and guiding the software development team.
- Be an expert in PHP and the Laravel Framework, functioning as the subject matter expert in all frameworks related decisions.
- Hands-on involvement in defining coding structures, best practices, and direction for the software development team.
- Take final responsibility for the quality of code and technical soundness of implementation by the software development team.
- Work with the CTO, Project Managers and Product Owners of the company to ensure final project delivery is within time and budget.
Technical Skills
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or IT
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in core PHP software development
- A minimum of 5 years with the Laravel framework (recent experience with Laravel 9/10 is mandatory)
- Strong front-end technology skills including Vue.js (Vue 3), CSS, HTML
- Experience with JavaScript / JQuery
- Experience with MySQL / MariaDB development
- Experience in web application security standards and OWASP compliant development.
- Experience in continuous build processes and can set up said procedures with DevOps.
- Exposure to development environments, testing procedures and deployment best practices.
- Unit test implementation experience
- Experience with AWS Cloud Services will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge in GIT or similar version control software is an added advantage.
- Prior Linux environment experience is also an added advantage.
The ideal candidate would also
- Prior experience developing consumer facing, self-service, enterprise web applications on PHP / Laravel is mandatory.
- Be a good communicator, with the ability to clearly define success parameters and drive a team.
- Work independently, setting up milestones and check-ins with project managers.
- Have prior experience in interacting with clients to explain technical solutions and approach.
